We're looking for a Head of SEO & Organic Growth to join our senior leadership team. This pivotal role will shape and drive our core offering: cutting-edge, content marketing & SEO strategy. You will be instrumental in steering both internal initiatives and client-facing projects, blending strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
The Role
The Head of SEO & Organic Growth is a senior role, tasked with overseeing key aspects of search engine optimisation and organic growth strategies for our diverse portfolio of clients.
This role blends big-picture strategy with hands-on technical expertise, internal leadership, client-facing communication, innovation, and operational excellence. You will work closely with account managers, editorial teams, senior leadership and the owners to ensure Eleven remains at the forefront of content marketing and organic discovery, develop company-wide SOPs and policies on content marketing and strategy, and contribute to our growing service offering.
This is a hands-on role. With the help of an SEO Exec, you'll spend much of your time executing audits, building frameworks and tools, participating in the writing of SEO reports, and developing content plans and strategies with account managers.
The ideal candidate for this strategic and operational leadership role is somebody who thrives on solving complex problems, mentoring others, and experimenting with new approaches and automations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Help define and evolve Eleven’s outlook on SEO, AEO/GEO, and organic growth.
- Shape our service offering by building frameworks, assets, SOPs, and documentation.
- Coach and mentor account managers on strategic thinking, SEO fundamentals, and innovative workflows.
- Identify and test new approaches that keep Eleven ahead of industry shifts.
- Build a knowledge base of best practices, templates, and guidance for repeatable excellence.
- Help to create unique and innovative Eleven-specific practices and automations.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and scientific rigor across the team.
Strategic Execution & Reporting
- Design and deliver high-level SEO strategies and assets, while collaborating with account managers for implementation and client alignment(content strategy docs, content plans / calendars, Looker reports and reporting frameworks, regular and ad-hoc audits, etc.)
- Support the development of client KPI frameworks and reporting structures to track and demonstrate impact to clients, highlight progress, insights, and opportunities, and drive iterative strategy improvements.
- Support the development of experiments to test strategic hypotheses and drive innovative client growth thereby helping to create unique Eleven SEO tools
- Proactively perform (or oversee) regular and ad-hoc audits (e.g. in response to algorithm changes) for clients.
- Provide account managers with the tools, templates, and confidence they need to handle day-to-day client operations.
- Partner with account managers and editorial leads to ensure SEO, AEO, and other foundational marketing principles are embedded in content creation.
- Join select client strategy calls to provide senior expertise and represent Eleven’s leadership.
Operational Excellence
- Standardise workflows and processes to ensure consistency and scalability of SEO/Organic efforts across clients.
- Manage tools (e.g. ScreamingFrog, Ahrefs), platforms (e.g. GA4, GSC), and partnerships that enhance SEO and organic growth capabilities.
- Introduce and integrate automation, AI/LLMs, and new platforms that enhance efficiency and insight.
- Produce clear, polished reports that turn complex data into actionable client recommendations.
Sales & Business Development
- Deliver audits and SEO/organic growth assessments for prospective clients.
- Collaborate with leadership to scope opportunities and win new business.
Internal SEO & Marketing
- Support and help inform Eleven’s own content marketing efforts, notably for the blog.
This means: Supporting existing marketing resources, offering guidance and direction where appropriate, and participating in weekly growth and blog meetings.
You are not expected to: Project-manage blog production, edit blog content, oversee the production of other marketing assets, etc.
- Maintain an active presence on LinkedIn that helps showcase your own skills and those of the company. (No need to have an existing following!)

Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of SEO & Organic fundamentals, including technical, on-page, content, and distribution.
- Knowledge of (and opinions on!) emerging trends in AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation).
- Track record of building and executing SEO and content strategies, ideally in SaaS/B2B.
- Advanced proficiency with tools including GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, etc.
- Experience (or interest in) leveraging AI/LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT) and automation tools (e.g., Colab, n8n) in SEO workflows.
- Strong reporting skills: able to transform data into clear insights and visuals for clients.

Compensation
- £4,000 - £5,000 monthly retainer
