Here’s everything you need to know to start connecting with industry writers and become an active member of the Eleven Topic-Expert Writers Community.

How to download and use Slack

If you’re not familiar with Slack, you’ll be pleased to hear it’s completely free and very easy to use. You can use Slack in your web browser or download native versions for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android. We recommend the latter, as you’ll get the best experience and never miss out on important notifications.

Clicking on the Slack link in the invitation email you received and you should see the Eleven Topic-Expert Writers Community workspace.

If you encounter any difficulty, feel free to respond directly to this email. We’ll be happy to help.

Channels and conversations

Slack is divided up into “channels” — conversation spaces where you can discuss, share files and images (yep, that includes memes and GIFs!), and more.

Here is a breakdown of our current channels:

#chatgpt-and-ai —Discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and natural language processing. We’ll offer tips on how to make use of these powerful tools.

#digital-nomads —Connect with other remote workers and share tips, advice, and experiences related to living and working as a digital nomad.

#freelancing — Connect with other freelancers and share insights and advice on finding work, managing clients, and building a successful writing career! We’ll share resources and industry advice.

#good-reads-and-listens — Discover news books, articles and podcast on writing and beyond, and share your favourites.

#industry-X — A series of channels for to discuss the latest trends and best practices in your industry, and get feedback and support from other professionals in the field. Current channels include Business, Finance, Tech and Marketing.

#intros — This is the place where we get to know each other a little better. Tell us a bit about your personal and professional background, your hobbies and interests, or anything else you'd like to share!

#seo-updates — Timely coverage of important SEO updates from our own internal team of SEO experts. Discuss the latest trends and best practices. Learn from industry experts and share your own insights!
